Roots blower is a positive displacement blower with impeller end face and front and rear end cover of the blower. The principle is a rotary compressor that uses two blade-shaped rotors to move relative to each other in the cylinder to compress and deliver gas. This kind of blower is simple in structure and convenient to manufacture. It is widely used in aquaculture aeration, sewage treatment and aeration, cement conveying, and is more suitable for gas conveying and pressurizing systems in low pressure occasions, and can also be used as a vacuum pump.

Roots Blower Features

1.The helical construction uses the stator helical method that the screen lines of casing at the suction and discharge sides are cut to a helical shape,and the triangle suction and discharge port formed by a straight line of the rotor top is to be opened and closed gradually.2.The rotors are three lobes.3.By adoption of an unique profile of rotor, the clearance between the rotors can be held to be constant, which makes the efficiency even higher.4.The precision of rotors is fully controlled and variation of precision between blowers is almost nil because the rotors are produced under the mass production control by utilizing a prenision NC maching.5.The advanced driving gears are adopted but only to extend the use life but also to make noise lower.6.The transported air is clean and is any oil-dust free oil lubrication is not needed in casing and the structure design prerent the bearing oil and gear oil from entering the casing.

How Does a Roots Blower Work?

Roots blowers are typically oil-free, air-cooled technologies comprised of two rotors that spin in opposite directions. Once the compression chamber comes into contact with the outlet port, compressed air flows back into the housing from the pressure side. Further compression takes place as the volume of the compression chamber further decreases with continued rotation. This means that the compression occurs against full counter-pressure, which results in low efficiency and a high noise level.The low-efficiency of these blowers limits them to applications requiring very low pressure and single-stage compression. These are also frequently used as vacuum pumps and for pneumatic conveyance.
